About the Department

The Department of Nursing within the College of Health Professions offers two innovative nursing programs to prepare you for professional nursing practice:

• The Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing.
• The 2nd-Degree BSN (ABSN) program for people who already hold a bachelor's degree in another field.

NKU's Nursing Program is directly associated with world class clinical affiliations such as Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (acclaimed by US News as one of America's Best Hospitals - 2006), St. Elizabeth Healthcare (recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet hospital), and other top ranked hospitals located throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Multiple additional experiences include area nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, and primary health care settings.
